Still in awe of the #aachencathedral ’s beautiful #mosaics. I was lucky enough to study it in my #arthistory undergrad. Aachen or #aixlachapelle was #charlemagne’s chosen capitol. He and the rest of the #carolingian dynasty ruled their empire from here.
