Natural Histories

School Field Trip number two!   We got to tour around with a Museum Architecture expert! It was pretty darn amazing.  The museum is massive (as expected).  We entered just as they opened and it felt like walking into Notre Dame or something. I was expecting some angels or a choir to start singing.  … Read More Natural Histories

Fall Fashions

I love fall/ autumn/ when plants die in the northern hemisphere.  It’s the best and easily my favourite season. #basic Yesterday, I was eating lunch in Russell Square (I CAN DO THAT NOW) (and yes that is in fact where the fictional PC Peter Grant lives, what a coincidence) and got to people watch. The… Read More Fall Fashions

BBC Masterpiece Theatre

My programme takes us on field-trips!  For the first one we went down south. It was pretty sweet!   For our first stop we went to the set of a Dickens/ Bronte film.  I honestly expected Cathy to call out for Heathcliffe somewhere (though that would only happen in the North, not here in the… Read More BBC Masterpiece Theatre

It’s like they have colloquialisms and shit.   Here are some of my favourites:   Zucchinis are now Courgettes. How fancy is that?   Baked Potatoes are now Jacket Potatoes. I keep imagining potatoes in tiny jackets.   Washrooms… Read More Proper names and stuff

To space! For Science, glory and stuff

Before School started some of us nerdy folks wanted to check out the museums around town.  It’s been nice to get to know some people from class before school, anxiety and rain tears us apart.   The Science Museum (Great name right?) Being that former colonialist empire means London’s museums (among many other things) got… Read More To space! For Science, glory and stuff

Dukes, Duchesses, Bronzino & Monet

Museum no. 2!  I had to take two trips to the National Gallery.  It’s pretty overwhelming and has lots of great stuff.  Many of the items in the gallery belonged to the Royal family.  Basically there are some amazing things here. It’s located right on Trafalgar Square.  So you can look out and see Admiral… Read More Dukes, Duchesses, Bronzino & Monet
